couple's therapy
Couple's therapy is a form of psychotherapy focused on the relationship itself, with both partners in the room. It helps people understand their patterns, communicate more honestly, and repair ruptures in trust and connection.
Approaches vary: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, Imago, and Internal Family Systems are commonly used. Clinicians work with attachment needs, conflict cycles, sexuality, parenting stress, infidelity, life transitions, and the effect of individual trauma on the bond. The goal is not to decide who is right but to help the couple see their shared dynamic, soften reactivity, and build a more secure, flexible connection—or, when appropriate, separate with care.
