narcissistic abuse recovery

Narcissistic abuse recovery is the long, layered process of healing from a relationship with a narcissistic partner, parent, or family member. It is not simply about "getting over" the person—it's about making sense of what happened, grieving what never was, and rebuilding the parts of the self that the relationship eroded.

Recovery typically involves psychoeducation about narcissism (which helps survivors stop blaming themselves), working with a trauma-informed therapist, nervous system regulation, setting limits or going no contact, and finding community with others who understand the experience. Over time, survivors move from confusion and self-doubt toward clarity, self-trust, and the ability to build relationships that don't run on walking on eggshells.
