men's issues

"Men's issues" refers to the specific mental health and relational challenges that men often carry, shaped by both personal trauma and cultural messages about masculinity. These can include pressure to suppress feelings other than anger, difficulty asking for help, loneliness, emotional unavailability, shame around vulnerability, and higher risk of untreated depression and suicide.

In trauma-informed work with men, space is made for the full range of human feeling, not just the narrow band traditional masculinity allows. Men are supported to grieve, to name fear, to be tender, and to relate in ways they may never have seen modeled. The goal is not to reject strength, but to redefine it to include self-awareness, honest connection, and the courage to heal.
