group therapy
Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which a small number of people meet regularly with one or more trained therapists to work on emotional, relational, or behavioral concerns. Groups can be topic-specific (trauma, grief, addiction, parenting) or more open-ended, focusing on interpersonal patterns as they emerge in the room.
For trauma survivors, group therapy can be uniquely powerful. Hearing others name experiences you thought were yours alone reduces shame and isolation, and the group itself becomes a corrective emotional experience where healthier ways of relating can be practiced. The combination of feedback, witnessing, and shared vulnerability often helps members move past places where individual therapy has stalled.
